Enrollment Status
Course Load. The maximum credit load for matriculated undergraduate students during the fall and spring semesters is 20 credits. Exceptions to this policy must be approved by the Registrar’s Office prior to registration for more than 20 credits, typically in conjunction with the student’s advisor(s). A student requesting an exception must do so in writing, including the number of credits to be attempted, specific courses, and rationale. Additional tuition will be charged for credit overloads.
Summer term consists of two six-week consecutive sessions and one overlapping twelve-week session. The maximum credit load for undergraduate students is 12 credits over the course of any given summer term. Students, however, may enroll in no more than 8 credits at any one time. Exceptions to this policy must be approved by the Registrar’s Office prior to registration for more than 12 summer credits, typically in conjunction with the student’s advisor(s). Non-matriculated students will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
