Geography Minor
A Minor in Geography strengthens a liberal arts education and provides professionally valuable perspectives and skills. A geographic perspective complements Majors such as Environmental Studies, Sustainability Studies, History, Political Science, and Sociology. In this 20-credit Minor, students will take at least one course in each of the major subfields of geography: physical and cultural. Students also take at least one course in geographic skills.

Upon completion of the Geography Minor, students will be able to:
- Identify human and physical characteristics of places and regions.
- Identify Earth’s dynamic physical processes.
- Recognize processes, patterns, distribution, and functions of human migration, settlement, and economic activities.
- Analyze spatial organization of people, places and environments.
- Analyze geographic issues using a spatial perspective.
- Use geospatial technologies to examine and display physical and cultural patterns.
