Medieval & Early Modern Studies Minor
The program in Medieval and Early Modern Studies focuses on the cultural and social interactions of various peoples of those eras. The program is international in scope and range, giving students a better understanding of the kinds of exchanges that take place when different cultures come into contact, and providing them with the tools and knowledge to understand the history and dynamics of a globalized world.

Upon completion of the Medieval and Early Modern Studies Minor, students will:
- Gain an interdisciplinary understanding of medieval and/or Early Modern cultures, histories, and literatures.
- Conduct independent research
- Develop original and sophisticated arguments in writing
- Produce written work that can be presented at professional conferences in the field
- Recognize and understand the enduring legacy (both positive and negative) of medieval and/or Early Modern cultural and literary motifs and historical developments
- Consider and reflect on differing approaches to issues such as diversity, gender, and race in the medieval and/or Early Modern context
- Consider and reflect on differing approaches to the geographical context(s) associated with the medieval and the Early Modern
